Connecting your Ambient Weather station to Wi-Fi lets it sync local data directly to AmbientWeather.net, so you can monitor real-time temperature, humidity, wind speed, and rainfall from your phone or computer anytime, anywhere. Most newer models use the awnet app for Wi-Fi configuration. Follow the quick steps below to get connected.

How to Connect an Ambient Weather Station to WiFi

1. Make sure your phone is online, then download the awnet app. Android users can get it from Google Play, and iPhone users can search for “awnet” or “Ambient Weather” in the App Store. Open the app after installing it and allow the required permissions, including local network, location, and Bluetooth.

Download and install the awnet App

2. Plug in your Ambient Weather console and make sure it powers on normally. It’s best to use the original power adapter instead of batteries alone, since some models may disable WiFi when running only on battery power. For setup, place the console close to your router to avoid weak signal issues.

3. Put the station into pairing mode. The exact steps depend on the model. For the WS-2902 series, press and hold the WIND + and PRESSURE - buttons for about 4 seconds. When the WiFi icon starts blinking quickly and you see a flashing “M-B” on the display, the device is ready to pair.

4. Go to your phone’s WiFi settings and connect to the temporary WLAN hotspot from the weather station. It usually shows up as AMBWeather-WIFI or WeatherHome-XXXX. You may see a “No Internet Connection” warning after connecting—this is normal. Just stay connected, and if needed, turn off mobile data to prevent your phone from switching networks.

5. Open the awnet app and tap “Add a Device.” The app will automatically scan for nearby Ambient Weather consoles. Once your device shows up, select it to continue.
