Here’s the part you’re waiting for—switching your router to 5GHz. You’ll need to log in to your router’s admin panel, adjust the Wi-Fi settings, and enable the 5GHz band. Here’s how:
Step 1: Connect to your router’s network
Use your phone, tablet, or laptop to connect to your router’s Wi-Fi. If it only broadcasts 2.4GHz right now, that’s fine—just connect to it.
Step 2: Access the router login page
Open a browser and type the router’s login IP into the address bar—for example 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, or whatever is printed on the label. Hit Enter (or “go” on mobile) and you should see the login screen.
Step 3: Enter the admin username and password
Remember, this is not your Wi-Fi password—it’s the router’s login credentials.
If you’ve forgotten them, check for a “Forgot password” option on the login page or reset the password using the instructions provided by the router manufacturer.

Step 4: Find the Wi-Fi settings
Once logged in, look for “Wireless Settings” or “Wi-Fi Settings.” There, you’ll see configuration options for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.
Step 5: Enable 5G Network
Check the box for “Enable 5G Network” or toggle the switch on. Your router will now broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz signals.
Step 6: Set your 5G network name and password
Give the 5GHz network a unique name (SSID), such as Tenda_2025_5G. Create a strong password with at least 8 characters, mixing letters, numbers, and symbols. For security mode, always choose WPA2 or WPA3 encryption.

Step 7: Save your changes and restart
Click “Save” or “Apply.” Some routers may restart automatically to apply the changes. Once it’s back online, you should see the 5GHz Wi-Fi in your device’s network list. Select it, enter the password, and enjoy the faster connection!
