Step 1: Use any internet-enabled device—whether it's a computer, phone, or tablet. Make sure it's connected to the same local network, either via an Ethernet cable to the switch or router, or through its Wi-Fi signal.
Step 2: Open a web browser on your device. Popular options like Chrome, Edge, or Safari will all work.
Step 3: In the browser’s address bar (not the search box), type http://172.16.0.1 and press Enter (or tap “Go” on mobile).
Avoid to mistype the IP address. Common mistakes that will prevent the page from loading include: 172.16.0.l, 172.16.o.1, www.172.16.0.1, http//172.16.0.1, or 172-16-0-1.
Step 4: If everything goes smoothly, you’ll see a login screen asking for a username and password.
Step 5: Enter the administrator username and password. If you haven't changed them before, you can try the default login info—usually printed on a sticker on the back of your device.
Top Global routers: Username: public, Password: public
2Wire routers: Some models use a blank username and password; others use a blank username and admin as the password.
Bellnet routers: Username: public, Password: public
Step 6: After entering the correct login credentials, click the “Login” button. You should now be redirected to the admin dashboard. From here, you can change your Wi-Fi name and password, check device connections, and manage other settings.
