When you purchase an ASUS router, you will need to log into the router's management interface to configure settings, such as changing your Wi-Fi password. ASUS routers offer two ways to access the management interface: by using the IP address http://192.168.1.1 or through http://router.asus.com.

What is http://router.asus.com used for?

The URL http://router.asus.com allows you to access the management interface of your ASUS router. From here, you can:

  • Change the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password
  • Configure network security settings
  • View devices connected to the router
  • Update the router firmware
  • Manage other advanced settings of the router

In short, by visiting http://router.asus.com, you can easily access the ASUS router's management interface and customize your network settings.

How to log in to http://router.asus.com?

1. Connect to the router

Before logging in, ensure your computer, phone, or tablet is connected to the ASUS router’s network (either via wired or wireless connection).

  • Wi-Fi connection: Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device and select the ASUS router’s network. The Wi-Fi name might be something like ASUS_XXXX or ASUS_ModelName (e.g., ASUS_RT-AC88U). Enter the password to connect.
  • Wired connection: If you are using a desktop or laptop, you can also connect directly to the router using an Ethernet cable.

2. Open your browser

Launch a web browser on your device, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.

3. Enter the router address

In the browser’s address bar, type: http://router.asus.com and press Enter. You will be redirected to the ASUS router login page.

Note: If http //router.asus.com doesn’t work, try using other default IP addresses, such as 192.168.1.1.

If you have already changed the password but have forgotten it, you can reset the router to restore the default settings. Click here for more information: How to reset an ASUS router?

5. Access the management interface
