1. Connect to the router
Before logging in, ensure your computer, phone, or tablet is connected to the ASUS router’s network (either via wired or wireless connection).
- Wi-Fi connection: Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device and select the ASUS router’s network. The Wi-Fi name might be something like ASUS_XXXX or ASUS_ModelName (e.g., ASUS_RT-AC88U). Enter the password to connect.
- Wired connection: If you are using a desktop or laptop, you can also connect directly to the router using an Ethernet cable.
2. Open your browser
Launch a web browser on your device, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
3. Enter the router address
In the browser’s address bar, type: http://router.asus.com and press Enter. You will be redirected to the ASUS router login page.
Note: If http //router.asus.com doesn’t work, try using other default IP addresses, such as 192.168.1.1.

4. Enter login credentials
On the login page, you will need to enter the router’s username and password.
- Default username: admin
- Default password: admin
Security Tip: For security reasons, it is highly recommended to change the default password the first time you log in to the ASUS router’s management interface. If you have already changed the password but have forgotten it, you can reset the router to restore the default settings. Click here for more information: How to reset an ASUS router?
5. Access the management interface
Once you've entered the correct admin username and password, you'll successfully log in and reach the router's management interface. From here, you can personalize various settings, such as changing the Wi-Fi name and password, setting network access controls, and more.
