Step-by-step guide
The method for setting up TP-LINK AX3000 router for internet access by a computer is similar to that of other router models. The basic steps are as follows:
1.Connect the cables. Plug in the power adapter of your TP-LINK AX3000 router and connect one end of the Ethernet cable to any available port on the router (WAN/LAN ports are interchangeable) and the other end to your modem or broadband source. Connect another cable from your computer to any other available port on the TP-LINK AX3000 router. Note: TP-LINK AX3000 series routers come with WAN/LAN adaptive ports. The router automatically detects the port connected to the modem as the WAN port and the remaining ports as LAN ports. So, you can connect the cables as you wish.
2.Check login information. Check the login address and wireless network name (SSID) on the bottom of the router.
3.Open the setup guide page. Open a web browser on your computer and enter the default IP address of the router (tplogin.cn) in the address bar, then press Enter. This will open the TP-LINK AX3000 router's setup guide page.
4.Create an admin password. Create an admin password on the setup guide page. This password will be used for managing the router (login interface) in the future. Remember and don't reveal it.
5.Internet setup. Next, the router will automatically detect the type of internet connection. You need to wait a few seconds for the router to complete the detection process and configure it according to the detect result.
If the detected internet connection is "PPPoE", you will need to fill in broadband account and password provided by your ISP on the page (Internet account, Internet password), and then click "Next."
If the detected internet connection is "Obtain an IP address automatically", just click "Next".
If the detected internet connection is "Fixed IP address", you will need to fill in the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, preferred DNS server, and alternate DNS server provided by the operator on the page, and then click "Next".
Note: Fixed IP addresses are usually used for enterprise broadband services and are not common in home broadband connections.
6.Wireless setup. Follow the instructions on the page to set up a wireless network name (SSID) and password, then click "OK."
8.Complete the wireless setup. After completing the above steps, you will be automatically connected to the newly created wireless network and can enjoy high-speed internet access.
