Huawei AX3 PRO Introduction of Children's Internet Protection Router
Children's Internet Protection Router Introduction: Huawei AX3 PRO
With the development of the Internet, today's students are more and more inseparable from the Internet. For example, teachers' various notices, homework, punching and other teaching tasks will be completed in the QQ group, so today's primary and secondary school students basically need Mobile phones, but after all, they are still young, so it is inevitable that they use mobile phones to do things unrelated to their studies, and even to check homework answers through mobile phones. In addition, parents are busy with work now, so they cannot play a role of supervision at all. At this time, a router with children's Internet protection function has become a good helper for parents to supervise their children.
Today, I will introduce Huawei's AX router with children's Internet protection function (AX series routers, which support 802.11ax protocol and are backward compatible: 802.11ac, 802.11g, 802.11n Protocol. The AX router is also called the wifi6 router. The theoretical maximum transmission rate is 9.6G bps, which is 1.2GB per second when converted into a common download speed. The AX router can be regarded as an upgraded version of the AC router, in terms of transmission speed, stability, etc. Great improvement.), Huawei AX3 PRO.
Huawei AX3 PRO router not only supports WIFI6, but also supports MESH networking. Since the transmit power of routers in my country is limited, no matter how high-end routers are, after passing through two walls, the signal will be very poor. If your home is a large apartment, it is inevitable that there will be dead spots in the signal, especially for duplexes and villas. The signal of the multi-floor pattern will be worse. Mesh networking is currently the most popular solution for home WiFi signal coverage. It can cover the whole house with the same WiFi name (ie, the same SSID), and the Internet devices can automatically and seamlessly switch between different devices. No need for you to worry. Mesh networking supports wired + wireless hybrid networking, and it is very convenient and flexible to configure, and the effect is very good. At present, almost all new routers from major router manufacturers support their own mesh technology. Buying a new router must support Mesh networking. Remember that only routers of the same brand can form a mesh network with each other!
Let's focus on the children's online protection function of Huawei AX3 PRO. This function can control the Internet access permissions of wired/wireless access terminal devices. After adding the terminal device of a family member to the children's Internet protection through the Smart Life App on the mobile phone/tablet, it supports to set one-key disconnection, allow all, my custom, game restriction, video restriction, social restriction, payment restriction on the protection device , installation application restrictions, URL blacklist, Internet access time, Internet access time, children's care reminder, help family members (especially minors) to develop correct Internet habits and healthy Internet access.
• The router as a secondary router does not currently support setting up children's Internet protection through the Smart Life App under Wi-Fi relay, Zhilian, or bridging.
• When the router is cascaded with a Huawei router or a third-party router with the Zhilian switch turned off through a network cable to do secondary routing (ie, the WAN port of the secondary routing is connected to the LAN port of the upstream routing), it supports the setting of children's Internet protection.
• Up to 16 child protection devices can be added to a single router.
• Does not support children's Internet protection restrictions on TVs and set-top boxes.

You can click the switch to turn off the game/video/social/payment/installation functions. After the switch is turned off, all the applications in the corresponding application list cannot connect to the network. You can also click to enter the details page, uncheck or re-check the application in the application list as needed, and click the "√" in the upper right corner to save.

If the application you want to manage is not in the list, you can click I want feedback at the bottom of the corresponding page, enter the application name and click OK. The official will increase the application according to the actual situation, as shown in the following figure:
Fourth, set URL blacklist
The URL blacklist mode in the "Children's Internet" function is disabled by default. After it is enabled, the URLs in the blacklist will not be able to access the Internet. You can add blacklist URLs to block unwanted websites as needed. A single device attached to the router supports adding up to 64 websites.
For the device, click the switch button to enable the URL blacklist function, and then click the area around the button to enter the details page.
Click to add a blacklist URL at the bottom, enter the URL and click OK, the setting is successful.

Five, set the time allowed to surf the Internet
You can set the maximum time for the protected device to surf the Internet every day, after which the device will not be able to access the Internet. Click Settings after "Duration Period Settings", set the time period and Internet access time, and click OK.
•The Internet time is only valid during the Internet time. For example: if the Internet time period is not set, and only the maximum Internet access time of the protected device is set to 6 hours on Monday, the device will not be able to continue to access the Internet after 6 hours of Internet access throughout the day on Monday; if the maximum Internet access time on Monday is set to 6 hours, and only If the 8:00-23:00 time period is allowed to access the Internet, the device can only access the Internet for a maximum of 6 hours during the 8:00-23:00 time period on Monday.
•The period of Internet access time needs to be set separately, and the time that is not set is not limited by default. For example: only set the maximum Internet access time to 6 hours on Monday, then the rest of the time except Monday can be used to access the Internet by default.
The time spent on the Internet is mainly based on the current traffic. For example, if you watch a video with a duration of 1 hour and the actual video buffering time is 10 minutes, the online time will only be counted as 10 minutes (video playback will not generate traffic).
•"Allow All" and "Custom" mode have the highest priority. After setting the Internet access time, if "Allow All" and "Custom" mode are turned on, the Internet access time will also be generated, and even if the Internet access time has been used up, it will be affected by the Internet access time. The protected device can still continue to surf the web. Therefore, the time spent online on that day may exceed the allowed time online.
•When the Internet access time of the device times out, the device cannot access the network, but the router will not block the access of the device, that is, the device is still online.
•The current App interface generally supports 16 settings for the duration of Internet access.
Six, set the allowed time to surf the Internet
•Click Allow Internet Time Periods > Go to Settings > Add Time Periods to edit Internet Time Periods.
•Press and hold the time period you want to delete, and click Delete to delete the set Internet time period.
•If the Internet access time period is set, only the set time period can access the Internet, and the time period that is not set will not be able to access the Internet.
•When the device is outside the Internet access period, the device cannot access the network, but the router will not block the access of the device, that is, the device is still online.
•The current App interface generally supports 16 Internet time period settings.
Seven, setting statistics on Internet access time
The statistics of Internet time are divided into yesterday, today and the past seven days. You can see how long the protected device has been used for the past seven days yesterday, today, and this week. Click "Internet Time Statistics" to view more.
•The time spent on the Internet is mainly based on the current traffic statistics, and the statistical data may be different from the actual use time (for example: if you watch a video with a duration of 1 hour, the actual video buffer time is 10 minutes, then the Internet time will only be counted. for 10 minutes).
•Some applications still generate traffic after entering the background, and will also be included in the usage time statistics. Therefore, the duration statistics may be greater than the actual usage duration.
Eighth, set child care reminders
Click Unbound in Child Care Reminder. After binding WeChat, click Child Care Reminder to enable the type of reminder in the list as needed.
•Reminders to surf the Internet during bedtime, push once every night.
•Three types of reminders for device online, payment warning, and learning are pushed every half hour.
•After setting the child care reminder, if the children's device triggers the reminder, your bound WeChat will receive a message reminder from the "HUAWEI WiFi" public account, click to view the detailed information.
The above is all about the children's Internet protection function of the Huawei AX3 PRO router. Is the function very powerful and practical?
