Many users encounter difficulties accessing their router’s admin panel due to entering the IP address into the browser’s search field instead of the address bar. Understanding the Address Bar vs. the Search Bar
Address Bar (Correct Position)
The address bar is typically located at the very top of the browser window. When you input 192.168.1.1 here and press Enter, the browser will navigate directly to the router’s configuration page.
Search Bar (Incorrect Position)
Often found in the center of a homepage or a new tab, the search bar is designed for keyword searches. Typing 192.168.1.1 here will prompt the browser to perform a search rather than opening the router’s login page.
Where to Locate the Address Bar on Popular Devices
On desktop browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, QQ Browser, 360 Browser, and UC Browser, the address bar is always positioned at the top of the window. Simply enter the IP address and press Enter to access your router.
On Android smartphones, browsers like Chrome, Huawei Browser, Mi Browser, and Quark also display the address bar at the top of the screen.
For iPhone users, Safari on iOS 15 and above displays the address bar at the bottom by default, but users can reposition it to the top through settings. In Chrome and Edge for iOS, the address bar consistently remains at the top.
Critical reminder: Always enter the IP address in the address bar—not the search bar—to avoid being redirected to a search engine, which prevents access to the router’s admin panel.
How to Log In via 192.168.1.1

Step 3: Enter the IP Address
Type http://192.168.1.1 into the browser’s address bar and press Enter or Go. Including the "http://" prefix is recommended, as some browsers may otherwise interpret the entry as a search term.
Step 4: Log In to the Router
