To change the Wi-Fi password, you must first access your router’s admin panel. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Connect your computer or mobile device to the router's network, either via Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable.
Step 2: Open a web browser on your device and type the correct IP address into the address bar: http://10.0.0.1. Be sure not to mistype it—many people mistakenly enter 10.0.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.l, which are incorrect and will not open the login page.
Step 3: After entering the correct address, hit "Enter" or "Go", and a login page should appear asking for a username and password.
If your router is new, we recommend checking the label on its underside, which typically provides the default login information. Common default usernames and passwords include:
- Username: admin, Password: admin
- Username: admin, Password: password
- Username: admin, Password: (blank)
10.0.0.0.1 Default Login Username & Password
Some newer router models, however, do not come with default usernames or passwords. Instead, they require users to create an administrator login password during the initial setup.
If you are using a router that has been previously configured (meaning a login password was already set), simply enter the password you established to log in.
Should you happen to forget your login password, don't worry. First, check if the login page offers a "Forgot Password" button to assist you in retrieving it. If this option isn't available, you can try performing a factory reset on the router. After the reset, you'll be able to log in using the default username and password.
