How to hide your Wi-Fi network?

1. Open the browser of your mobile phone or computer, input the login IP address in the address bar of the browser to enter the router admin interface, here you need to enter the username and password, and click to sign in. Common router login addresses including 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1, 192.168.3.1. But not all routers use these addresses to log in. You can check the label on the back of your router. If you don't know the username and password, you can try to fill in admin, 123456 or 888888, etc.

2. Successfully login to the router admin interface.

3. Click "Wireless" and uncheck "Enable SSID Broadcast". Different routers may have different names. But basically, they are called "Hide Wireless Networks" or "Enable SSID Broadcasts". The old routers generally show the second one. Finally, click "Apply", the Wi-Fi network will be hidden.

Can the Wi-Fi be found out if it is hidden?

If the Wi-Fi signal is hidden, You can't find it in a new computer, mobile phone, or iPad Wi-Fi list. But if your device ever connected to it, you can find it usually called a "Hidden Network".

How to connect to Wi-Fi if it is hidden?

If you are using a device that has been connected to the Wi-Fi signal before, you can directly find the "hidden network", enter the Wi-Fi name and password to verify for connection.

If you are using a new device, you need to manually add wireless network. Here are the setup steps for your phone and computer.

Windows computer

1. Open the Control Panel, find "Network and Sharing Center", and click "Set up a new connection or network".

2. Select "Manually connect to a wireless network", and then click "Next".

3. Fill in the Wi-Fi name (SSID), Wi-Fi password, and select the security type as your router. Don't forget to check "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting", and then click "Next".

5. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the lower right corner of your computer desktop, you can see that your computer is connected to Wi-Fi.

Android phone

1. Open your phone's settings interface and tap "WLAN".

2. On the "WLAN" page, click "Add network".

3. Fill in the Wi-Fi name (SSID), Wi-Fi password, and select the security type as your router. Finally, click "√" in the upper right corner to save.

iPhone

1. Open your iPhone's settings interface and tap "WLAN".
